In Search of the Middle Ground

T: Okay, so I’m just going to spit it out – these AI data centers…I have been observing and feel like in order to honor my responsibility of showing up as an ethical techie, I need to talk about it.

T: Yes, and I mean I don’t have good answers.  I really believe we are living in a world where having balanced conversations about difficult topics are getting more challenging than ever.

T: It really is.  And what scares me about it is how it keeps us distracted.  I just heard about a zoo in my area that’s getting closed and will be replaced with an AI data center.  This is the type of stuff I can’t stand by.  I love technology, I mean look at how many amazing things we can do with it.  But my biggest concern these days is how quickly things are moving.  I mean, we’re optimizing for LLM conversational queries in both paid and organic media, yet we don’t have the ability to pull reporting from Google Search Console yet.  What does that tell us?

T: I mean, I’m just one laywoman.  But in my humble opinion, there needs to be more “bridge” people.  Those who are able to see multiple perspectives and find that middle ground.

T: I don’t plan on going off on a rant about the water stuff, because the truth is, I don’t have direct personal experience with that, so I cannot speak to it.
